Professor Pierre de Gioia Carabellese has been appointed Professor of Banking and Financial Law , Professor of Business Law and Regulation . Since 2017 he has been a professor of law in England and Wales , where he continues being a professorial fellow at the Advance Higher Education . Prior to that, Pierre was Associate Professor of business law, assistant professor of business law and lecturer , at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. Pierre is is a Notary Public in Edinburgh, Solicitor in the UK and Avvocato in Italy.

Professor de Gioia Carabellese holds a Ph.D. in banking and financial law in Siena , an LLM in European and international trade law at Glasgow Caledonian University University , a Master in leadership at the CMI , a Post-graduate course in academic practice at Heriot Watt University .

Before being an academic, Pierre worked as a financial lawyer and banker .
