Are there no cigarette ends and chewing gums in the streets?
Modifica paginaFrom 1st July 2015, does this new legislation contribute to cleanliness of our streets?
From 1st July 2015 a new legislation against rudeness entered into force: we are not getting Swiss, but the Bill No 2093 related to the Stability Law 2014 which seeks to amend Legislative Decree No 152 of 3rd April 2006 contains the obligation to throw chewing gums and cigarette ends (for all smokers) away in appropriate containers for separate collection of household waste throughout the local area.
Indeed, Article 14-bis of the Bill reads as follows: “With effect from 10 July 2015, it is prohibited to leave chewing gums and cigarette ends on the floor, in water and in the waste. Those who leave chewing gums and cigarette ends carelessly will be punished with an administrative penalty (between 30 and 150 ϵ) which will swell the Municipality’s coffers.
For smokers there is also an increase in tobacco excise.
There may be further amendments. We will see how they are implemented in the future.
